How to Send a Group Text

Sending group texts is one of the most effective ways to notify, engage, and promote your business. Here we will show you the basics on how to send a text.

Step 1: Select "Send Now" or Schedule

Step 2: Select the Campaign Type. (Standard is SMS/ text only)

Step 3: Give your campaign a name.

Step 4: Select your sending code. Use your 10-digit long code (10 DLC) that is unique to your business.

Step 5: Select Message Template and scroll down to select the template of your choice. (Optional)

Step 6: Type your message. If message exceeds 160 characters, you'll need to select "2-credit" which allows up to 304 characters.

Step 7: Select "Groups" or "Queries" you want to send the text campaign to.

Step 8: Review Message—Send preview message or send now/ schedule campaign.

Step 1: Select "Send Now" or Schedule

When sending a text marketing campaign with Age Texting, you have the option to send it immediately or schedule it to go out in the future. You must schedule at least one hour ahead. If sending multiple campaigns—perhaps to different groups—schedule at least 10 minutes apart to prevent message backlog.

On the Create A Group Message page, select "Send Now" or "Schedule" if you would like to send your text campaign in the future.

You must first create at least one message template or you will not view any templates on the campaign creation page.

Step 6: Type your message. If message exceeds 160 characters, you'll need to select "2-credit" which allows up to 304 characters.

If you want to include a link in your text message, you can copy the long URL in the "Add URL" blank, then check the box next to "Shorten Url and Insert in Message". Shortening the link saves characters and allows you to track the number of clicks.
